Paul Kieve has devised original magic for over 100 productions internationally. His innovative work on Ghost the Musical on Broadway lead to Paul becoming the first Illusionist to win a Drama Desk Award in its 62 year history. Other theatre includes Groundhog Day (London and Broadway) Matilda (West End, Broadway, Australia), Ghost The Musical (West End, US tour and Australia), Pippin (Broadway and first National Tour), Side Show (Kennedy Centre and Broadway), Finding Neverland (Broadway), Macbeth starring Kenneth Branagh (Park Avenue Armory, New York), The Woman In White (Broadway), The Phantom Of The Opera (US Tour). Other West End includes The Tempest, Fatal Attraction (Haymarket), The Invisible Man, Zorro (also Atlanta, Paris, Moscow, Shanghai, Amsterdam), The Lord Of The Rings (also Toronto), Our House, Roald Dahl’s The Witches, and Scrooge (also US tour). He has advised on many productions with The Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre, Royal Ballet, and Royal Opera House.

For Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, he was physical magic consultant and is the only magician to have appeared in any of the Potter films. For the multi ‘Oscar’ winning movie Hugo, Paul was magic supervisor and personally tutored Ben Kingsley in his role as magician film maker Georges Méliès.

He worked closely with Kate Bush to create magic for her 2014 live show ‘Before The Dawn’ and has worked as a consultant to magicians including Penn and Teller, David Copperfield and Derren Brown. He has collaborated extensively on live projects with magician Dynamo including the Fiat 500X launch and the recent record breaking UK Arena tour ’Seeing is Believing’. He closely collaborated with David Blaine on his first ever live tour in 2017.

He has taught magic to many stars including Joan Rivers, Anne Hathaway, Michael Buble, Simon Cowell and Daniel Radcliffe and has worked alongside many notable directors including Sir Peter Hall, Rob Ashford, Joe Mantello, Trevor Nunn, and Oscar winners Alfonso Cuaron, Sam Mendes and Martin Scorcese.

Paul’s awards include two Guinness World Records, The Magic Castle (Hollywood) Creative Fellowship (2013), The Magic Circle Maskelyne Award for services to British magic (2013) and the Chapender Award for services to the community using magic (2024). He is the author of ‘Hocus Pocus’ (Bloomsbury/ Scholastic) which features an introduction by Daniel Radcliffe and was published in 11 languages. Paul is an honorary lifetime member of The Magic Castle, Hollywood, Gold Star Member of the Inner Magic Circle and an associate artist at The Old Vic Theatre, London.

He has just collaborated with Walt Disney Imagineering to co-create the multi million dollar spectacular ‘Mickey and the Magician’ currently running 35 shows a week at Disneyland Paris. It won the international IAAPA award for best theme park show and is the first character magic show in any of the Disney parks.
