Danielle is a queer, neurodiverse actor & writer from Yorkshire.

Acting

Danielle has written and is currently starring in Children of The Night, which was shortlisted for the 2023 Women’s Prize for Playwriting, 2024 New Diorama Untapped Award and inspired by the testimony of 30 people from Doncaster. The production is supported by Arts Council England, Right Up Our Street, Cast and Stage One.

Prior to this, she played the role of Anne in The Merry Wives of Windsor (Shakespeare’s Globe), having previously appeared there as Luce in The Comedy of Errors — a performance that earned her a nomination for the prestigious Ian Charleson Award.

In 2021, she was also nominated for the Evening Standard Future Theatre Award for her performance in The Upstart Crow at the Gielgud Theatre.

Writing

Danielle’s debut play, Children of the Night, has been longlisted for Paines Plough’s 2023 Women’s Prize for Playwriting. Danielle spent the pandemic writing the play, which celebrates the notorious clubland scene of her Doncaster hometown in the 90s. Children of the Night evolved into a large-scale community project and stage play which opened to sell-out audiences at CAST, Doncaster.

As a theatremaker Danielle has created theatre with organisations including the RSC, Royal Court, Traverse Festival, Camden People’s Theatre, Hull Truck & Theatre503. She was a member of social activist theatre company LUNG, with whom she developed E15 and The 56, winning Spotlight’s Most Promising Actor award in 2015.
