THE ROLE:

  • We are looking to engage in meetings for a Literary Agent to represent writers across television, film and/or theatre, and to grow InterTalent’s presence in this space.
  • The agent will be responsible for building and managing their own roster of writers, negotiating deals on their behalf and developing their careers across scripted media.
  • We are open as to whether this suits someone bringing an established list, or an entrepreneurial junior agent from a top literary agency looking for more progression and opportunity.
  • The agent will work closely with colleagues across the company to identify scripted opportunities for existing InterTalent clients where commercially viable.

THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a literary agent at an established agency.
  • A proven track record of representing writers across television, film and/or theatre.
  • Strong existing relationships with commissioners, producers, development executives and/or theatres across the industry.
  • Outstanding communication, editorial and organisational skills.
  • Deep specialist knowledge of the UK and international writing landscape, whether within TV/Film, theatre, audio, books, comedy, animation or video games.
  • Experience negotiating writer agreements, including WGGB, PACT and/or SOLT/UKT deals.
  • A proven ability to attract, retain and champion exceptional writing talent.
  • Experience working with both established and emerging & diverse voices.
  • Demonstrable entrepreneurship, energy and ambition to build a client list within a successful and established agency.
  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues across our Music, Unscripted, Creators, Comedy, Gaming & Sport businesses.
  • Knowledge of Tagmin (preferred, but not essential).
