With a background in journalism, Will’s on-screen career took off in 2010 when he joined Speed Channel in the United States as a Formula 1 pitlane reporter. He continued in the same role but with NBC Sports from 2013 to 2017, where he additionally covered a number of IndyCar Races; his dynamic and engaging style quickly earning him a loyal following in the US.
In 2018, Will joined the Formula 1 team, becoming the lead presenter for the sport’s official media and television platforms – a role he fulfilled until the end of the 2024 season. His ability to blend technical knowledge with storytelling made him a trusted figure among fans and teams alike.
As one of the key contributors in Formula 1: Drive to Survive, his candid analysis and vibrant energy have helped bring the sport to millions of new fans worldwide.
Beyond his on-screen work, Will is an accomplished author, with his newest offering cementing his status as a New York Times bestseller. In 2019 he released the critically acclaimed ‘My Greatest Defeat’, a book that delves into the untold struggles and personal challenges faced by some of the biggest names in motorsport. Featuring interviews with legendary drivers such as Alain Prost, Mika Häkkinen, and Mario Andretti, the book offers a rare glimpse into the resilience and determination required to succeed in one of the most demanding sports on the plane and connects readers with the raw, emotional side of motorsport.
In 2024 he released ‘Grand Prix; An Illustrated History of Formula 1’ with Penguin Random House, which hit the New York Times Bestseller list in August of that year.
