KERRY FRAMPTON

Kerry Frampton is Artistic Director of Splendid Productions, professional clown, theatre practitioner, director, writer and designer. Kerry specialises in work that is physical, theatrical, devised, anti- fourth wall, audience-centric, political, joy-filled, heart breaking and ensemble-based.

Kerry trained at Bretton Hall, University of Leeds. She set up Splendid Productions in 2003 and has directed, adapted and regularly performed in their annual creative adaptations of classic texts since 2004.

Kerry Frampton is Artistic Director of Splendid Productions, professional clown, theatre practitioner, director, writer and designer. Kerry specialises in work that is physical, theatrical, devised, anti- fourth wall, audience-centric, political, joy-filled, heart breaking and ensemble-based.

Kerry trained at Bretton Hall, University of Leeds. She set up Splendid Productions in 2003 and has directed, adapted and regularly performed in their annual creative adaptations of classic texts since 2004.

She is the company’s senior workshop practitioner and has over twenty years’ experience of devising and delivering high-quality, practical, theory-based drama workshops. Kerry has delivered workshops in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu-Dhabi, Shanghai, Bangkok and Malaysia.

She devised, researched and designed Splendid Productions’ unique range of theatrical Mind Maps that have appeared on studio walls from New Zealand to the National Theatre.

Awards; Puss in Moon Boots won the Off West End award for Best Show for Families 2021

In 2021 Kerry was nominated for Outstanding Drama Education Resource at the Music & Drama Education Awards for her online Brecht CPD.

Midsummer Mechanicals was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Family Show 2023.
A Splendid and The Globe co-production which Kerry co-wrote, co-directed and performed in.

Kerry also works as a visiting lecturer and director at LAMDA, LIPA and Trinity Laban.

Publications; As a writer she has published articles and reviews for Teaching Drama Magazine and National Drama Magazine.
