Jason Gilkison is an internationally renowned director, choreographer and creative director – his work being seen around the world on stage and screen.

Over the last 9 years, Jason has held the coveted position of creative director for BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in the UK. Along with the team, Jason has helped to transform the show into the huge success it is today with his creative vision and artistic direction. He is a BAFTA recipient for his work on the show.

Jason is a choreographer for musical theatre – current projects include I Should Be So Lucky, the new Stock, Aitken & Waterman musical currently touring the UK. Previously Jason choreographed the UK Tour of Strictly Ballroom: The Musical alongside Craig Revel-Horwood.

Jason is known for his work as a television judge and choreographer on the hugely successful international TV series ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ both in Australia and the USA. Jason also worked on Dancing with the Stars in the USA for a number of years. His spectacular Grand Finale opening in 2010 was viewed live by over 24 Million viewers. In 2018 Jason took up the coveted position of head judge for Dancing with the Stars South Africa.

Over the years Jason has choreographed for artists including Celine Dion, Robbie Williams, Andrea Bocelli, Kylie Minogue, Take That, Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett plus many more.

In 2001 Jason accepted the role of choreographer and artistic director for the dance spectacular Burn the Floor. His vision and creativity led to several successful world tours, visiting more than 40 countries. With the success of the show, in 2009 Burn the Floor transferred firstly to the Longacre Theatre on Broadway where it broke its box office record twice, and then onto the Shaftsbury Theatre in London’s West End where it played a successful summer season.

In 2019 Jason was a double nominee for the World Choreography Awards.
