Francesca is a Welsh theatre director and first recipient of the Carne Traineeship for Directors in Wales at Theatr Clwyd.
Most recently, Francesca directed new Katherine Chandler play A Pretty Shitty Love (Theatr Clwyd/Chapter Arts Cardiff), which received critical acclaim in national press. She is currently Associate Director on The Famous Five (Theatr Clwyd/Chichester Festival Theatre).

Further directing credits include The Brothers Grimm Cinderella (Barn Theatre), Once Upon a Christmas (Theatr Clwyd), Adam and Eve and Steve (King’s Head Theatre), Shout! the Mod Musical (Royal Court Theatre Liverpool).
She trained at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and is the former Trainee Director of The Other Room Theatre in Cardiff. She recently co-founded The Far Away Plays – an online play reading company that champions Welsh and Wales based creatives – with a view to revisit existing Welsh plays and discuss the reimagining of those classics for today.
Francesca is a guest director and visiting lecturer at LIPA, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, working with both acting and design students.
