Francesca is a Welsh theatre director and first recipient of the Carne Traineeship for Directors in Wales at Theatr Clwyd.

She trained at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and is the former Trainee Director of The Other Room Theatre in Cardiff. She recently co-founded The Far Away Plays – an online play reading company that champions Welsh and Wales based creatives – with a view to revisit existing Welsh plays and discuss the reimagining of those classics for today.

Francesca recently directed Cinderella (The Barn Theatre, Christmas 2021), and is currently directing Carousel (Mountview, Feb 2022) and 26 Days [working title]: a new commission by Theatr Clwyd by award winning playwright Katherine Chandler and original live music composed by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite (July 2022).

Francesca has been a visiting lecturer at LIPA, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, working with both the acting and design students.
