Debbie McGee is a much loved TV, radio and stage presenter and personality.
After finishing her training at the Royal Ballet School, Debbie joined the Iranian National Ballet until political reasons forced her to return to the UK. She then moved into the commercial side of dance and performed with The Second Generation appearing with many known artists including ABBA and Chris de Burgh.

After finishing her training at the Royal Ballet School, Debbie joined the Iranian National Ballet until political reasons forced her to return to the UK. She then moved into the commercial side of dance and performed with The Second Generation appearing with many known artists including ABBA and Chris de Burgh.
Passing one audition changed her life. In 1979 The Delfont Organisation placed her as a dancer in The Paul Daniels Summer Show in Great Yarmouth, and the rest is history.
Debbie went on to become Paul’s assistant and together they appeared in the longest running TV magic show in the world: The Paul Daniels Magic Show for the BBC. The programme achieved in excess of 15 million viewers per week and won the coveted Golden Rose of Montreux TV Award.
They also toured the UK along with hugely successful seasons in London’s West End at The Savoy and The Prince of Wales Theatres. They also performed for both the British Royal family and other Royals globally, and for many major companies worldwide.
In the early 2000’s Debbie returned to her first love of dance, and started Ballet Imaginaire – a touring ballet company recreating some traditional ballets and two original ones: “The Artist’s Dream” and “Phantom of the Ballet”.
After this, Debbie joined BBC Radio Berkshire, where she became the longest running Sunday show presenter, hosting her own show for twelve years.
Following Paul’s death in 2016, Debbie has continued with a thriving solo career.
In 2017 Debbie had enormous success in the hit BBC1 TV show Strictly Come Dancing, hitting headlines every week with her performances, achieving the earliest top score of 40 in the show’s history for her Tango, and being the oldest celebrity contestant to get through to the final. Due to her popularity on the show she was asked to perform on the Strictly Arena Tour and in 2019 she was invited back to take part in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special where she was eventually crowned the winner.
Following Strictly Come Dancing, Debbie has made many TV appearances including; Countdown, Richard Osman’s House of Games, The 1970s Dinner Party, The Jeremy Vine Show, Loose Women, Celebrity Bridge of Lies, The Weakest Link, Susan Calman’s Grand Week By The Sea, The Wheel, Celebrity Mastermind, Celebrities Go Barging and The Pilgrimage, to name a few.
