CHARITY WORK
Dane is a past President (2015-16) and Director (2005-2014) of the British Voice Association. He was Vocal Advisor (2016-2019) to the Medical Committee of the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM) where he pioneered the creation of competencies for Vocal Rehabilitation Coaches working in multidisciplinary voice clinics in the UK. He was also a member of the Musicians Health and Wellbeing group for Help Musicians UK.
EDUCATIONAL APPOINTMENTS
Academic appointments include Associate Professor of Vocal Coaching and Rehabilitation at Leeds College of Music (now Leeds Conservatoire), where he was also Principal Lecturer of Artistry and Performance (2007-17), both posts were newly created for Dane’s unique skill-sets. Other academic posts include Teaching Fellow in Pop Voice at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (2003-6), Senior Lecturer in Pop Voice at the Royal Northern College of Music (2008-10), and Lecturer in Voice and Acting at University of Salford (2001-03). Dane now works exclusively in private practice but is happy to present workshops and masterclasses at reputable institutions internationally.
