Christine McGuinness

Christine McGuinness is an author, documentary maker, business owner and and well loved advocate for the National Autistic Society. Her hard work for pushing neurodiversity into public conversation has touched the hearts of many. Her active role within the community has shone through; she has spoken on this topic in Parliament, at panels and also internally for multiple corporations.

Her debut book, bestseller, A Beautiful Nightmare (Mirror Books) was released in 2021 which sat alongside her groundbreaking documentary Our Family and Autism (BBC 1) during the same year.

In March 2023 her new documentary Christine McGuinness: Unmasking My Autism aired on BBC One. The documentary sees her uncover the issue of women and girls going undiagnosed. 

In 2023, Christine launched her own business H-E-R; focussing on sensory-positive clothing with ASD people in mind. She continues to grow the brand in all aspects across swimwear, loungewear and activewear.

Christine’s advocacy for the ASD community has led her onto working with Just Eat, Boots, ITV, Channel 4 and more.
