Steven has worked extensively on both stage and screen.
On television he is best known for playing Max Farnham in Channel 4’s BROOKSIDE from 1990 until the show ended in 2003. For his portrayal he won the Manchester Evening News Award for Best Actor. He will soon return to our screens in THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, directed by Bille August for Canal +. He also recently wrapped on the feature film, TOUCHÉ. His numerous other screen credits include; CASUALTY (BBC1), HOTEL BABYLON (BBC1), THE BILL (ITV), HOLBY CITY (BBC1), EMMERDALE (ITV), DOCTORS (BBC1), TRUE CRIME (ITV) and CROSSROADS (ITV).

On stage earlier this year, Steven played a successful run as Rod in CALENDAR GIRLS at The Mill at Sonning. This came shortly after returning as Doctor Dillamond in the smash hit West End musical WICKED. No stranger to the show, Steven has previously played The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Doctor Dillamond in the UK & International Tour and the original UK & Ireland Tour. Further credits include; THE INVISIBLE MAN (Eastbourne Theatres), NOTES FROM A SMALL ISLAND (Watermill Theatre), REHEARSAL FOR MURDER (UK Tour), THE LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS (St.Helens Theatre Royal), THE MEMORY OF WATER (New Vic Theatre & Stephen Joseph Theatre), THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK (York Theatre Royal & UK Tour), DEATHTRAP (Oldham Coliseum), FOOTLOOSE (UK Tour), NEVILLE’S ISLAND (Liverpool Playhouse) and KEEPING UP APPEARANCES (UK Tour). Steven won the Best Actor Award at the 24:7 Manchester Festival for his role in SHADOW OF YOUR HAND.
